A freshman at Notre Dame, Nazir Primus dominated a massive field of 375 fencers to win the Junior Men's Saber title.
In a field of 375 competitors at the Summer Nationals and July Challenge, Nazir Primus stood above the rest. The Brooklyn native secured the Junior Men's Saber title on July 1, 2026.
Primus, an A26-rated fencer training at the Peter Westbrook Foundation, has been building toward this moment since 2018. This win marks his eighth career title.
Now a freshman at the University of Notre Dame, Primus brings significant momentum to his collegiate career. His current U20 national ranking is No. 6, supported by 2505.2 points.
The tournament required navigating one of the largest brackets in youth fencing. Primus proved his consistency, adding this victory to a resume that includes 30 career podium finishes.
The final bout saw Primus face William J. Lim of Globus Fencing Academy. Both fencers hold A26 ratings, setting the stage for a high-level encounter that concluded with Primus on top.
With nine seasons of competitive experience, Primus remains a fencer to watch as he transitions into the NCAA circuit.
